Therapeutic Massage with Singing Bowls

How It works

Therapeutic tibetan singing bowls are positioned on the clothed body and gently sounded.

During a sound massage, deep relaxation is achieved through soothing sounds rich in overtones, the harmonious sounds calm the mind.

The vibrations emanating from the singing bowls gradually spread throughout the body and soothing tranquility sets in.

Alleviation of stress and anxiety emerges, ideal conditions for regeneration and promoting health.

Tuning Fork Therapy

How It works

Tuning fork therapy is a type of alternative medicine that uses sound vibrations to heal the body. With the use of tuning forks, practitioners can target specific areas of the body that are out of balance. This therapy is said to help improve overall health and well-being by restoring balance within the body using the vibrations that the tuning forks emit.

The theory behind it is that these vibrations can help to restore balance and harmony within the body, mind and spirit.  The purpose of tuning fork therapy are multifold, such as reducing stress, relieving pain and improving circulation.

Therapeutic Massage with Singing Bowls

“Jeanine is amazing, knowledgeable and professional. She made sure to explain the whole process at the beginning of the session as it was my first time doing it and did not know what to expect. After the session Jeanine gave me a lot of recommendations based on certain areas of my body that were really tense. I’ve been feeling much better since then.”

The Why

SOUND THERAPY BENEFITS

Deep Relaxation

A significant and universal benefit of sound therapy. The sounds and vibrations permeate our body bringing it back to harmony. We could all benefit from deep relaxation and use a break from our busy schedules.

It Boosts Your Health

Sound therapy can be incredibly beneficial when working with a variety of people. Benefits can include improved sleep, reduction of chronic pain and blood pressure, lowered cholesterol, and a decreased risk of heart disease.

Relief From Stress

Another one of the greatest benefits that a person feels from sound therapy is relief from stress. The soothing sounds help to re-tune your brain to better cope with any kind of stress. Whether mental or physical stress, sound healing offers relief.

Clears Energy Blockages

Sound therapy sends stimulating vibrations to the brain that encourages the brain to release suppressed energy. Some people experience deep restoration during a sound therapy session as the sound vibrations open, clear, and balance the energy centers and release stuck energy, leaving you feeling balanced and replenished.

Better Focus

This is achieved by lowering brain wave states. By using specific frequencies to help re-balance brain function, sound therapy can help you think clearer leading to feelings of happiness and overall well-being.

Improved Relationships

Too much stress is one of the major causes of breakdowns in relationships within the family, workplace, and anywhere else where we interact with others. With the help of sound therapy, stress levels are reduced and you are better able to focus more on building and strengthening relationships.

FAQ's

Is Sound Therapy beneficial?

Sound Therapy is a natural form of sensory therapy and is very beneficial when practised by a certified Sound Therapist.

Sound therapy should be used to complement medical treatment, and you should never discontinue your medical treatments or medicines without permission from your doctor.

How often do I need sessions?

All healing is self-paced and most people need more than one session to get their body into balance again.

What could happen during a session?

Receiving sound induces a meditative state – it takes your brainwaves into the theta phase, which is where you need to be to heal – activating the right brain and deactivating the left brain.

When the right brain is more active, experiences are more about feeling than thinking. Some clients describe this state as like being asleep, while still being conscious. A dreamlike state where connections can be made.

After the session, you might feel ‘spacey’ – that’s normal! Often clients will feel grounded and energized at the same time. It’s a beautiful experience. I’ll give you time to come back to earth and then we can discuss your experience. You are welcome to say as little or as much as you choose. Then, if you like, I will share my observations.

A lot of the impact of sound therapy happens after the session itself. I always recommend paying attention in the 48 hours after a session to see what comes up.

What should I Wear?

Comfort is key to making the most of your experience. The more comfortable you are, the more you will be able to relax and fully engage in the sound. Loose, non-restrictive clothing is a good choice. If you tend to feel the cold, make sure to bring some extra layers with you. And please don’t forget your socks!

Are there any conditions or circumstances where Sound Therapy might not be recommended?

While sound therapy is safe for most people, there are a few exceptions. If you are in your first trimester of pregnancy, have metal fittings, or are epileptic, it’s best to consult with a healthcare professional first. It’s always important to listen to your body and ensure that any therapeutic practice aligns with your personal health circumstances.

How did you become a Sound Therapist?

I played piano nearly all my life, so I’ve always had a passion for anything music and sound related. I discovered Sound Healing when I was living in Mexico and fell absolutely in love. It is immensely powerful and has a plethora of benefits, not to mention it’s been around for 40,000 years! I studied Sound Therapy for over 2 years and have earned multiple certifications. I am also a member of the CTAA.
